Hello Friends,
I'm sending this email out a day early because tomorrow is a big day! Your wine club will be ready in the tasting room at 4 p.m., and it is the last day to RSVP for our Wine Club Picnic Party. Because we are hosting this party at a ranch (not at the winery), I will only have the orders for out-of-town customers at the party. For all of our local friends, your wines will be available at the tasting room.
Our TGIF wines this week will be the 2021 Zotovich Vineyard Chardonnay and the 2021 El Camino Syrah. TGIF=$30/bottle. Let me know if you want to pick up, stash, or ship on May 20th.
The wine club letter is below for your reading pleasure:)
Enjoy your weekend!
Sara
THIS WEEK'S TASTING ROOM HOURS:

Dear Friends,
One of the most common questions we encounter in our tasting room is, "Do you own your own vineyards?" The answer is no, and I'd like to share a bit about why we made that choice. Initially, the cost of acquiring and maintaining vineyards was prohibitive, but as the years passed, we found immense joy in sourcing grapes from all corners of the Santa Ynez Valley. This approach liberated us from the constraints of a single climate and terroir, allowing us to craft Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon wines with equal finesse.
What sets the Santa Ynez Valley apart is its geological formation as one of the rare transverse valleys in the world. Transverse valleys are characterized by their orientation perpendicular to the coastline, allowing cool maritime breezes and fog to funnel inland, creating a distinct microclimate ideal for grape cultivation. We are so fortunate to access fruit from such a unique geological area. As stewards of the grapevine, we cherish the delicate art of winemaking, akin to a chef's meticulous selection of ingredients. Just as each market boasts its unique array of flavors, each vineyard imparts its distinct imprint upon the grapes it yields. The variegated climates, soils, and elevations of different vineyard sites bestow upon the grapes an unparalleled complexity, allowing us to craft wines of exceptional character and depth.
For over two decades, we have nurtured partnerships with select vineyards, cultivating a profound understanding of their terroir. This enduring relationship grants us an intimate knowledge of the fruit's nuances, enabling us to discern how each vineyard's grapes yearn to be transformed into wine.
Made with love and sending immense wishes of gratitude. Your support of Transcendence makes it possible for us to purchase the very best fruit from around the Valley and produce wine at its finest.
