As a reminder our wine club party is on February 11th, from 1-4 at the winery.  If you have not RSVP's and would like to go, I have room for a few more members, just please let me know today.

Our tasting room will be closed tomorrow, February 2nd for a private party.

This week, our TGIF is the 2021 G Street Pinot Noir.  This wine is a blend of Lafond and La Encantada Vineyards and is also made up of Pommard, 115 and 777 clones.  If you would like to add some G Street to your wine club order, now would be a great time to do it!  TGIF= $30/bottle.

You should have all received your wine club order by now.  You have until Sunday to make any changes and then you can pick up in the tasting room anytime after February 8th.

If ya'll could kindly RSVP to the wine club party by January 28th, I can work out all the details for our tasty food spread. The party is Saturday, February 11th, from 1-4 at the winery location (300 North G Street-enter at the Chestnut gate). Tickets for wine club members are $30/per person, which includes food, wine, and entertainment. We will also be saying farewell to Shannon, who, along with her darling family, is heading back to England.

This week, we have another preview of our winter wine club selection for TGIF. The 2021 Lafond Vineyard Grenache is outstanding, and we have not released a Lafond Grenache since 2013. I know this is short notice, but if I don't squeeze in a wine club party soon, I will lose the winery until after we finish bottling in May. Hello Friends,

We are welcoming 2023 with open arms and a fresh perspective. Last week, I was asked to describe 2022 in one word. After much thought, my word was "juxtaposition." There were such amazing highs coupled with incredible lows. My daughter, who was with me that night, also received the question and her answer was quite different. Her word was "even." She reflected that 2022 had no significant highs or lows in the year. Some of my most notable highs and lows were with her. It just amazes me how our perspectives shape our outlook. For me, 2023 is all about perspective and managing my ability to pivot my perspective.

First and foremost, you are going to love these wines. They are up there with the best of the best and will continue to age with grace.
 
Do you ever feel like nothing can surprise you? The last thing I want to be is immune to bad news, but I find myself repeating this phrase repeatedly: "this isn't my first rodeo." Colloquialisms and idioms are forms of communication that resonate with us all. They are, as they ever were, the universal language.
 
We feel like it is "just the tip of the iceberg" and a "matter of time" before the "bottom drops out" and we all "go down in flames." We are all "up to our eyeballs" with bad news, but we remind ourselves that "shit happens" and "this isn't our first rodeo." We know how to "make ends meet," and we have "dodged a bullet" before. We sure have "our work cut out for us," though. Good thing we know how to "pivot on a dime." "We weren't born yesterday," so "through thick and thin," we will "pull ourselves up by the bootstraps."  "It is all part of the process" and "everything happens for a reason." Remember to "stay in the moment" because "we are all in the same boat." We will "rise to the occasion" "with flying colors."  "Keep your chin up," "hard work pays off," "there is a light at the end of the tunnel," and "every cloud has a silver lining." "We've got this!"
 
Right? We've got this! You got this!! Inflation, recession, markets crashing, war, devastating yields, social unrest, erratic weather, political dysfunction, energy turmoil, NO PROBLEM!
 
"At the end of the day," what matters is that you pay attention to your health, love your family, make time for your friends, enjoy a hobby, savor tasty food and drink delicious wine made with love. "Nothing else matters."

Hello Friends,

**We will be closed for a private party from 12-2pm on Sunday, September 25th**

It is not uncommon to have a heat wave in September, but for eight days???... that is very uncommon. It is also not uncommon to have some showers during September, but an inch and a half of rain??.. strange. We, fortunately, have not experienced any detrimental effects from the weather. The grapes have all been in great shape. So far, we have harvested Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Grenache, and Pinot Noir. We have experienced very low yields, as with many other winemakers in the Valley. The low yields were due to the very windy and cold spring we experienced, so the grapes did not set very heavy. This is a blessing and a curse. A curse because we are making less wine, and that hits the bottom line, but a blessing because the concentration of flavors in these small yields has been exceptional.  So far, our harvest crew (Joey, Chris, and Tina) are killing it in the cellar, and still in good spirits despite these crazy first three weeks of Harvest. At the end of the day, we have to remember that we are farmers, our lives revolve around the weather, and there is always a Silver Lining.
