The Move toward Elegance in Southern California

2011 Zotovich Vineyard Chardonnay

“Intense, mineral-accented aromas of candied citrus fruits and quince, with deeper melon and pit fruit nuances emerging with air. Lively and incisive, offering spicy orange and pear flavors given spine by juicy acidity. Closes on a subtle smoky note, with impressive clarity and length.” 91 Points

2009 Babcock Pinot Noir
“Aromas and flavors of cherry-cola, musky herbs, anise and vanilla bean. Plush, deep and seamless, with gentle acidity adding lift and back-end cut. Closes on a sweet, velvety note, with excellent length. Aeration brought out supple tannins but they are pretty well buried beneath this wine’s fruit.” 91 Points
2009 Syrah, Santa Barbara
“A seductively perfumed bouquet evokes smoky red and dark berries, potpourri and black pepper. Expansive but focused cassis and bitter cherry flavors are complicated by spicecake and floral pastille nuances that build with air. Supple tannins come on late and add grip to the long, smoky finish.” 90 Points
2009 Parea
“Ripe dark fruits and cola on the nose, with a hint of allspice adding complexity. Plump, palate-coating cherry and cassis flavors gain ripeness with air, picking up a note of candied plum. Deep, open-knit and supple in texture, finishing with good cling and a touch of warmth.” 89 Points
